Foley was born in Marlborough, N.H. on Jan. 3, 1925. He graduated from Marlborough High School in 1943 and was immediately drafted, enlisting in the Army at Manchester, N.H. on July 9, 1943. Foley served with Company K of the 85th Infantry Regiment and was stationed at Camp Hale, Colo., Camp Swift, Tex., and Camp Carson, Colo. and served combat duty in Italy.
